Testing testing 123…

kona

My flights are booked for 29th May to China to begin my year long search for Shambhala by mountain bike.  So that gives me about two weeks to finish up research and gear testing before I pack up my bike once again for the big unknown.

While testing my new bike in Queensland this week, I climbed through the bush to rest on top of a large mountain opposite Mt Tamborine and wondered about all the adventures awaiting me in the next year.  The less glamourous memories of wild dogs chasing me at 43kmph at 5:30am came back, as did the dust storms and floods in central Mongolia.  It’s a world away from the sun and laid back vibe of Queensland.

Special thanks to the guys at Kona Australia for helping me with my latest ride, a Kona Big Kahuna 29er!  She’s a beauty, I’m loving the ride of a 29er, really laid back compared to a 26″ which I’ve been riding for 15 years.  I’m sure we’ll get in to many adventures over the next year riding along the Himalayas, can’t wait!

Freeken good one. Dude, I am so excited just to hear about this journey, i was watching this dodgy 70’s musical movie the otehr day about a plane load of people stranded in Shamala, I think you should be in for a good ride!

Looking forward to following you. best wishes and have a ball!
