Bob visits Manly Dam

I took the Bob trailer for a test ride to Manly Dam this morning and I must say I am super impressed with how she handles.  You’d think the trailer would be cumbersome but in fact it tracks very well and to be honest I forgot I had it on!

Of course, tight turns are tricky because the turning circle has to be quite large to prevent jack knifing.  The trailer has very high ground clearance which makes going down steps a breeze, not once did the trailer scrape the larger rocks.

Going up hill is good too.  Because the trailer ‘clips’ on to a bearing type skewer the trailer arcs naturaly, allowing you to almost bunny hop up the rocks if you have enough momentum (I found using the front brake and ‘endowing’ the back off the ground then letting go of the front brake was one way to nail the rocks uphill) the wheel of the trailer follows perfectly and because of the rear shock I hardly notice the trailer lift itself up.

A friend of mine, Lee Duguid came along to take some photos of the trailer in action and he did a great job climbing up and down trees and getting himself in to all sorts of positions!  Check out some of Lee’s amazing landscape photography here at www.leeduguid.com.au
