‘Racking’ our brains

The epoxy steel has set, the racks are on, the holes drilled and we have enough spare high tensile screws and washers to compete with Bunnings.  The epoxy is kind of untried for what we are doing.  The original ideal was to use washers to pad out the indentations in the frame where the racks butts into position.

The washers become stressed as we screw in the bolts which I was afraid may fatigue them with time on the corrugated roads.  Not only that, they didn’t face off nice and flush with the frame.  The molded epoxy steel creates a nice finish and of course is molded to the shape of the frame.  We’ll take washers as back up!
