Beautiful day in the Flinders

What an amazing day!  Tim and I slept through a terrific thunderstorm last night-we were pedalling our hearts out from Wilpena to Arkaroo Rock ready for a wet night camping.

We woke up to find the clouds had cleared and we prepared for our first bit oif off road riding, taking the lesser travelled route from Wilpena Pound through Bunjeroo Gorge.  We rode alongside Emus, Kanagaroos and watched the magnificient Wedge Tailed Eagles fly over head as we made our wat through the range.

The canyons gave the Bob trailers a real workout and they came through with shining colours.

We had a shocking 20km road ride to top the day off and were pretty tired by the time we arrived at the Parachilna’s Prairie Hotel – one of only two Aussie hotels to feature in the Hip Hotel Guide.  Landlord, Grant, made us feel very welcome and we had a Ferrel Meal each, the Prairie’s signature dish comprising of Emu, Roo and Camel!
